CalBank in partnership with UNICEF and General Electric (Ghana) has set-up a Newborn Care Unit at the New-Tafo Government Hospital in the Abuakwa North District of Eastern Region.
The facility is equipped with three units each of infant warmers, LED phototherapy units and Bag and Mask Resuscitators.
Speaking at a dedication ceremony to hand over the facility, Managing Director of CalBank, Mr. Frank Adu Jnr, said the gesture was part of the Bank’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) towards lending support to improve healthcare delivery.
“This beautiful thing we are seeing here today is as a result of the commitment and dedication of management and staff of CalBank to healthcare delivery. The gesture, which is in response to a request from the Ghana Health
Service through the United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) is funded by 50% staff contribution and 50% from the bank.”
He assured that, CalBank will continue to support Education, Health, Sport and Culture.
The Medical Superintendent of the New Tafo Government Hospital, Dr. Joseph Kojo Tambil expressed his appreciation to CALBANK LIMITED, UNICEF and General Electric (Ghana) for their gesture and called on
government and corporate institution to help construct new children’s ward for the hospital to enable them provide better service for the children.
