CalBank PLC, as part of its corporate social investment commitment, has donated medical supplies to the University of Ghana Medical Center (UGMC) and the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge). The donation aims to support the healthcare efforts of these institutions and ensure the safety of their medical professionals.

The donated medical supplies will enable medical personnel at UGMC and Ridge Hospital to perform their duties confidently and protect both patients and staff.

CalBank’s delegation, led by Mr. Thomas Boansi-Sarpong (Executive Head, Finance & Operations), presented the medical supplies to UGMC in a ceremony held on May 18, 2023. The items included isolation gowns and other medical consumables. Mr. Boansi-Sarpong reiterated the Bank’s commitment to supporting the healthcare sector and expressed gratitude for the dedication of frontline workers.

Further to the exercise, CalBank representatives visited Ridge Hospital to present another set of isolation gowns and other medical consumables. These supplies will enhance the hospital’s capacity to deliver exceptional care and ensure the safety of frontline healthcare workers.

Mr. Joejo Wodow-Hammond (Group Head of Operations, CalBank) also emphasized the Bank’s dedication to supporting the healthcare sector and highlighted the importance of providing medical professionals with necessary protective gear. He expressed gratitude for the frontline workers’ tireless efforts in saving lives and contributing to public health.

These recent donations are part of a partnership between CalBank PLC, the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH), NYU Grossman School of Medicine’s Section for Global Health, and the City of New York. This partnership has provided hundreds of thousands of protective face masks and significant supplies to support healthcare revitalization across the country.
